What is sake?

Sake is an alcoholic drink consisting of rice, water, and koji, which is the key ingredient. Although the techniques of creating sake are similar to those of wine and beer, sake is produced in a more intricate manner that is entirely unique to the beverage.

Sake is regarded as healthy, especially when compared to other alcoholic beverages. Some sakes are alcohol-free, while others have less than half the amount of alcohol found in other liquors.

It contains a high concentration of amino acids and is gluten-free, making it an ideal choice for anyone suffering from celiac disease or gluten intolerance.

Is sake keto?

When on the keto diet, it's important to limit net carbs to 5% (25–50 g) for a 2000-calorie diet. The macronutrient ratio should be 20% protein and 75% fat for ketosis (1).

Sake contains 5g of carbs per serving. This number of net carbs makes sake suitable for a keto diet.
