Is Caviar Keto?

Caviar is an ideal food to be added in the keto diet. Being roe, black caviar, or red caviar they are all suitable to be added in the keto diet.

Caviar has a very small amount of net carbs (only 0.7g per saving) and a high amount of healthy fats, perfect for a Keto Diet (1).

You can also visit the Caviar Nutrition page for its complete nutritional profile.

One serving size of caviar (16 grams) provides:

Calories: 42

Protein: 4 grams

Fat: 3 grams. Caviar falls in the range of the top 18% of foods as a source of fats.

Total carbs: 0.7 grams of net carbs

Net Carbs

A classic Keto Diet recommends limiting your net carb consumption to 20g - 30g per day (for 2000 calorie diet). Caviar provides a small amount of net carbs. So per day, you can consume about 1.5 kg of caviar and still not cross the net carbs limit (if caviar is the only source of net carbs). However, caviar is usually consumed in small amounts.

Summary

Both black and red caviars are an excellent addition to a well-balanced Keto Diet since they have low net carbs and high fats.

Caviar is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which have many health benefits.
